It was an inspiring day... and it has been a while to feel like this for me. I was just excited to see some colleagues from LA, and of course some colleagues from OC! Not only that today's guest speakers were amazing and motivating but also the environment at Fullerton School District was inviting. I came to visit several months ago, but has been renewed and I felt like I would like to be here to explore! The time was NOT enough! (this is how children feel! right!?) I personally felt refreshed to listen to Pauline Baker from Tuscan Children's Project in Arizona that I visited 9 years ago and Matt Karlsen from Opal School in Portland 3 years ago. It is nice to tickle some memories to get a prospective of what one had learned in the past and how they still relate to more current experience. I wonder how these experiences will enhance my on going learning. I have been recently helping one school's atelier and I was excited to hear from Pauline about the importance of creativity, which was the topic of her talk. She mentioned "art is an agenda" How can we enhance creativity? Matt also reminded me how important it is to support literacy and material relationship. OC Reggio Round Table is planning to visit this school sometime next year! Details will be shared later
